That is a Parkdale model that is not sold any more... at least not in Broadlands or the Hedgewood section. Hard to judge what the base model price is when it is not available? I always liked that model, but we got the Fitzgerald instead - more open.

Our friends at 22026 Stone Hollow just lowered the price on their house too- $614,888. Beautiful house, hot tub, plantation shutters, really pretty. It is listed by the same realty group www.domangroup.com

I figure this is a good thread to write about house deals (steals!). I hope we get neighbors as great as the ones that are moving out! Tell your friends! The neighbors directly behind us, directly in front of us, and diagonal behind us have all relocated from- you guessed it- Broadlands. And that includes us as well! If you are looking to move within the 'hood- we know some excellent agents.

I should mention that my husband, Kevin Trippel, is a Referral Agent and can help finding the perfect realtor (for free!). I always say a referral with anything is the best way to go, especially with something as important as your home. You can call him if you need an agent (571-722-5634) or PM (private message) me and I will get the message to him.

nice houses, but we would never buy there because of the stupid van meter/openband deal that gives consumers no choice. ick.

i can think of much ickier things than a service provider contract to keep me out of a neighborhood.
i like our internet connection speed. i like the customer service i get when i have a problem. i have had very few problems with the company, and all of my small issues have been resolved.
i think that the openband-bashing that occurs on this forum has really swayed some people's opinion of the company, and it is truly a shame. further, i think that calling the press in to magnify the issue has done nothing for enhancing the value of our homes- in fact what a minor thing to focus on when choosing where you will live with your family. i think that the prices are fairly competative, and i think it would be very small-visioned of someone to eliminate a home in Southern Walk from their scope of potential neighborhoods based on the service provider- we have so much more to offer than other neighborhoods in this area, and i consider myself very lucky to live here. i noted before that many of my neighbors (and our family) have relocated from within the Broadlands. These are not uninformed individuals.
But of course, it is your choice. and, in this market, a concerned home-buyer might factor this into their offer and shave a bit off the price to make it alright in their budget or head or whatever ($50/month, 5 years, equals $3000- would that change your decision?). but i certainly don't think that it is a deterrent at all- it's one of our amenities.
