Anyone else love this place? I always get the catfish, and it is great. Family loves it. The homeade BBQ chips are to die for! We{ve had great service every time we go there, and use it for all of out catering. Everyone at the parties always loves the food!

I used to like them. I always went and asked for the "hot" BBQ sauce which they keep in the kitchen refrigerated. I brought coworkers in from Sterling, fellow National Guardsmen from down south. Love their food as did everyone I brought in there.
Until I brought my family in one night for the first time, and sat in the booth for a good 20 minutes waiting for a waiter/waitress to at least take our drink order. Stood up, asked for the manager and the usual excuses started flowing.
My family patronizes as much as possible in Broadlands, but sitting in a booth for 20 minutes as all the waiters/waitresses walk by and look at you like you have a disease and no one asking you if they can help is a little much. I would understand if the place was packed but there was only 4 families in there at the time.

BBQ is ok, not as good as Famous Dave's, beer is cold, chips are good, ask for the "hot" BBQ sauce from the back.... as for my family or friends eating there.... never again.:angryfire:

The Stanford's will be sticking the ones we love, Clyde's, Mezza Grill, Brickoven Pizzeria and the Good Ol' Original Steakhouse you can never go wrong with those.

I applaud you for waiting 20 minutes. I have a *VERY* strict 5-7 minute rule. If noone greats me after they seat me within 5-7 minutes I leave, after telling the manager on duty the reason I am leaving.

Only reason we stayed that long, my wife was a waitress in college and knows that "things" can tend to happen. She is also a very passive person, but even she was getting annoyed.

service can be hit or miss sometimes, but the food has been pretty stable- the good dishes have always been good, the beer has always been cold!

that said- I have the same 5-7 minute policy and then inform the manager why i'm leaving. I have NEVER returned to the 2 restaurants that i've had this problem with... neither was that good anyway...

My husband and I ate there last weekend and I thought the food was barley edible. He had the ribs and I had the pork sandwich. My bun was stale and the meat cold. His ribs were all fat. The potato salad was bland.

I think the portions are huge, the grilled chicken breast usually make 2-3 extra meals from the leftovers. Also the greens are as close to soul food I can find in the area.

Ditto on their greens, and you can request the spicy vinegar to top it off.

We ate there twice last week. Both times they were out of wings. Wanted to try them. Had the beef tips I think they were called instead, they were quite good. The chips are awesome. Also agreed with the above poster, the potato salad is bland. You can hardly taste a thing in it.

Heard they were hosting a texas hold-em game on Mondays to drum up business. Anyone else hear about this?

We get takeout there (pulled pork sandwiches) maybe every other week. Pretty good and they've always had it ready.

I used to get the two meat combo at Bluz Brothers until I had it at Famous Daves. The Famous Daves lunch combo is more food then the Bluz Brothers dinner portion and it's way tastier. What's with the tiny corn bread you get at bluz? You get a regular corn bread muffin at Famous Daves. The sausage is so much better at famous daves as is the chicken fingers.

I hate to say it but I'll drive the extra time to go to Famous Daves now. So much better and I used to frequent Bluz Brothers weekly.
