    The only thing in there now is the tennis thread. Can we all have access to create threads in there? I'm thinking this would be the most appropriate place for threads about swimming lessons, pool info, flicks in the sticks, various parties, etc?

    I think this is what we currently have- maybe your title would be better?:
    Local Area Events
    Happenings in and around the community, from seminars to concerts to football games to kids events. Post them here!
