Well, there's no signs that say "road closed" or anything. Actually, went down there one time, drove right by a cop that was running radar on AVBlvd...and he didn't stop us...

Even passed a few cars on it lately - and had to stop for deer once.

I went home that way from Golds and as I went througth the two barricades there are signs that say no trespassing. There were guys in their truck by the trailer and they just looked at me funny as I drove by. I followed a Fed-ex truck so I figured it was ok, since he did it.

So the website that "updates" the Safeway center stores hasn't added anything new and interesting in quite a while. Anyone know of something that's not listed on the website?

I'm sure there will be a nail place. You canNOT have a strip mall without one it seems.

My personal opinion is there needs to be an Anita's. Mmmmmmmmmm. There's one in Herndon & Chantilly & 2 in Vienna. We must go there at least once a week and boy it would be nice if we could have one close to home. Or if not Anita's, then Ashburn needs a REALLY good Mexican place.

Ok, I'm going to go raid my fridge now, I'm hungry:D

Have you been to Tias over in Fair Lakes? They have the best Mexican so far from what we have found around here.

I second that for Tia's. I grew up in Phoenix and Tia's has the closest taste in food from what I grew up on. I live for the trips out West, so I can fill up on awesome Mexican food.

I'm so relieved to see a nail place finally sign up. I was really starting to worry that there would actually be a neighborhood mall in Ashburn without one.

NO kidding. I was so scared I'd actually have to (GASP) drive across Farmwell Hunt to the Giant shopping center. Oh the horror

Tia's is good, on par with Chevy's.

For Authentic Mexican try Picante in Chantilly on rt 50.
Also La Tolteca by the Movie Theatre is more authentic than most.
Leesburg as a good "americanized" mexican place across from Ben Franklin on Catoctan.

What about a hoppy shop... i.e. remote control cars/trucks, planes, boats, model trains not the radio shack versions though.

I was just thinking, we have all these great ideas for places, but how do we get these businesses interested in our shopping center.

You can't. Unless it's a franchise, then you can petition to come to an area. We will mostly have franchise type stores mixed with mom and pop businesses. You really can't dictate what stores we get. The leasing company might have a say in which type of stores we'll have cause I'm sure they don't want 5 dry cleaners or 10 pizza delivery places all in one center. If you know someone who's in the business you're seeking, it might be a good idea to let them know about the shopping center. Maybe they'll move or open another store. I'm hoping to see a Thai restaurant or another movie rental place. A bike store would be nice. But I'll take whatever we get.

My ideal center will have Tweeter, Tara Thai, Maggie Moo, and Advance Auto or any auto parts store, and Home Depot and Lowes next to each other.
