My wife and I are getting spotty service inside the house and are looking to change providers. We are in the Southern Walk area. What cell phone providers are people using here that have very strong signals?

And if you want to chime in with any deals you may currently know about...that works, too!

what provider do you have now? It varies by device as well... People always seem to like the voice quality of VzW

We live in Southernwalk and have the HTC Evo & Hero. Sprint is our carrier and we consistently have 4-5 bars in signal strength.

I have no issues with VZW. 4G is spotty, but the more widespread 3G is very strong here.

I currently have AT&T with three phones. The Blackberry and Treo are always at 5 bars and never have any trouble. My third phone is an iPhone 4 and jumps between 3-4 bars. If I have to make an important call I always grab the BB or Treo.

I honestly believe that many of the cell issues experienced (outside of those pockets where coverage truly is bad) is on the phone. Its amazing I can go to a location and have dropped calls on my iphone, pick up my blackberry and have crystal clear calls.

    Thanks for all the feedback.
I'm thinking of going with Verizon or AT&T.

We live in Southern Walk. My husband used to have Sprint and he would have to perch on his bathroom sink or lurk in the doorway to the front door and NOT MOVE A MUSCLE in order to get reception. I used to have AT&T with work and reception was there, but in deplorable conditions in the house. My calls would be dropped as soon as I turned onto Ridgeway (from on top of the hill) and I would pick up service again until I turned left from Stone Hollow onto Claiborne. We've since moved on to Verizon and have had no issues and consistently have full bars 24x7.

Thanks Lufti...maybe Verizon is our answer now.
I have to go out onto our deck for phone calls with Sprint right now.

A few months ago we switched to t-mobile and it's working fine, even get their 4g service in the house. Got a good deal at Costco. The last time I tried it, it even works in most metro stations (but not when the train is in between stations).

For the past two weeks I've noticed more dropped calls (daily) on my AT&T iPhone. Not sure what the issue is but before this I had very few complaints and was pleased with AT&T.

My wife has Sprint and no issues.

with the iPhone 5 coming this fall, I may switch back to Verizon or Sprint if they get the iPhone which looks more possible when they switch to 4G LTE.

I have sprint, no issues at all, even with 4G. I 'm in the Southerwalk area behind the McDonalds if that helps.

for those with Sprint, if you are getting bad reception at your home, you can call customer service and request their signal booster called airave. The new model is made from samsung I believe. They'll send you one for free and won't charge you the monthly fee if you tell them that your reception is bad at home.

It definitely helps since I haven't had issues since getting one of these.
