The Sheetz on Rt 50 by South Riding is pretty cheap. Also gas is a little cheaper in Leesburg.

I also use Sheetz on 50, or the 7-11 about 1/4 west of Sheetz. Both seem to compete for lowest price.

I use the 7-11 in Sterling off of Cascades Pky, near the Target/Creme de la Creme daycare.

Anyone besides me notice that most or all the gas station in Ashburn are Mobil Exxon. Talk about a monopoly. Anyone see a shell, texaco, or amaco in Ashburn? I get mine at Mobil in Ashburn (convenient) or at Costco if I'm up there for something.

I've heard through the grapevine that all the Mobils and Exxons in Ashburn are owned by the same person. I don't know for sure that this is true.

In looking at the plans for the new shopping center in Broadlands I see a "Safeway Gas" listed. I'm hoping that this is a gas station that will compete with all the Mobil/Exxon stations in Ashburn. Competition is good for the customer!

And I refuse to purchase anything at the Mobil/Circle K on Truro Parish. Between equipment failures and rude/incompetent customer service, I've had enough of them. The Mobil at Junction Plaza is close enough and I've never seen problems there.

What is it with the Circle K staff? They are very rude. Like you, I do not do business with them. However, if all these stations are owned by the same person, I definitely will take my business to Safeway Gas.

They do have to be the rudest employees I have ever encountered. Never once have I heard a "thank you". I avoid that place like the plague!

I agree that they are rude and the pumps are constantly malfunctioning. Have you also noticed that an American Flag has not been flying there for a few months? When I last when in there I asked where it was and they said it was on order. That was at least a month ago.

Also, is it true that a quick oil change business is going next to the gas station?

I avoid buying gas at these local places except a little for the lawn mower. They are such a rip off!!
I buy in Sterling at the Costco or the 7-11 across the street from that silly daycare, Creme de la Creme.
Now that we are driving to William and Mary (child in college) once a month, we always find nice cheap gas in Fauquier County and Prince William along Rt 17 in the boonies. We fill up the van! Williamsburg has crummy prices too.

Out of necessity, I had to buy gas from the Mobil in McClean on Route 123 & GW Parkway -- $1.94 a gallon!!! I only needed a couple of gallons, so it wasn't that bad. But that price is unreal, given the recent decrease in gas prices.

hornerjo: Thanks for the tip! We are now filling up at the 7-11 exclusively. It's very convenient since we're out that way pretty much every weekend at the mall, Target, or Lowes. THANKS!!!

That station has seemingly had the highest gas prices for as long as I have lived in this area... 14 years. I want to believe it has to do with the expensive real estate and not greed.
