Last night the new Cheesecake Factory at Dulles Town Center had a "Special Friends and Family" event. Looks like it will start testing things with some customers by Monday or Tuesday.

    Hi Everyone,
The Cheesecake factory opened Monday night, Dec 4th at 5pm.

My husband and I were at the mall for Christmas shopping and decided to check them out about 9pm. We found out after our meal that they had just opened!

They were not busy and the service and food was excellent. They are also completely non-smoking.

We have eaten at CF many times in different states, including last week for dinner. Although there was very little wait we found the service was slow and the to go order for cheesecake was screwed up so the ordered White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Cheesecake (our favorite) was actually coconut. In times like these we hope as the restaurant gets more experienced the service and efficiency will improve.

i've never been impressed with CF- eaten at them here and AZ. the cheesecakes are fine but the rest of the menu leaves a lot to be desired. unless you are sharing- the portions are wastefully huge! glad we have so many other tastier places right nearby...

I think Cheesecake Factory is quite good and always enjoy it. From the posts here, maybe we'll give it a bit longer until the staff works out the kinks but it sounds like a great addition to the area!

On the flip side, I do agree that the portions are huge, esp for some of the salads. Does seem a little wasteful.
Would prefer they shave a few dollars off the price and give a smaller portion. Salad with dressing is never too good to bring home in a to go box--soggy!
(I know, I know I could probably order dressing "on the side" and then when it comes ask for a doggie bag and then rummage thru the salad right away and divide part to take home but truthfully I'd just rather have less salad for less money to begin with).

Then I'd have more room and more money to actually have some cheesecake maybe (which I've never actually had there since I am always so full!)

The only other negative comment is that they do not have a children's menu, do they?????

We went to the Cheesecake Factory yesterday because we had family visiting from London and they were dying to go there (definitely not our first choice, but want to make our visitors happy :) Well...big mistake. I ordered the lunch portion of the Pasta DiVinci. It's a pasta dish with chicken and mushrooms. I cut into a piece of chicken only to find it was raw in the middle. They take it back, apologize, bring me out a new one and a piece of cheesecake to take home, and they take it off the menu. Not a huge deal, the service was great and we were having fun, so we let it go. I didn't eat any of the new one they sent back out to me last night, so I took it to go and tried it today. More raw chicken. No kidding. I obviously called them and let them know. Thankfully I didn't get sick, and I certainly hope I was an isolated case. I hope it's just them being newly open and so slammed. Though, I'm not going for a strike three, and can't say that I'll be going back there anytime soon...

This is one of my favorite restaurants. We went there for my birthday last night. My son ordered a meatloaf sandwich at 5pm.. They were OUT of meatloaf sandwiches on a SATURDAY night.. strike one. My daughter ordered the petit filet mignon.. medium.. it came out burnt.. strike 2..they brought out another one...they did not charge us for it.. however.. it still was not right... We had to ask for water refills.. we had to ask for bread.... the service was not very good. I'm just going to say...they are new and had an inexperienced staff....

As for their salads.. I have ordered them in the past with dressing on the side.. and divided my salad up and had 1/2 the next day...

The portions are huge..but I love them the next day for lunch !!

what, are you too good for a doggie bag?! :D that's one of the main reasons I go.. I can make 2-3 meals out of it! mmmm. I've always liked the variety and everything I've tried tastes great too..

I think the best CF is up in Baltimore at the Inner Harbor or the one by Chevy Chase. Tysons and Dulles just don't live up to the reputation of the other ones.

not too GOOD for a doggie bag, but I don't like having a mediocre meal ONCE, much less TWICE. ;)

There are way too many other choices in town, so we will choose not to dine there, but I'm sure that so many people disagree with me that CF is SAFE in the Ashburn area!
