I am new to Broadlands - house being built in southern walk - I am going to have to commute from Ashburn to Crystal City Navy Annex and did not know if this lot you all are speaking of (at nature center and one to be in section 208 or wherever) is to pick up slugs, or a bus to VRE/Metro?

    Anyone?

    What do people do now?

I don't think anyone uses the lot at the Nature center yet (everything is still very new there).

One way to get to the Navy Annex would be to use the Fairfax Connector at the Reston East at Wiehle Ave Park & Ride (I don't think the Herndon-Monroe has a route to the Pentagon/Crystal City). Route 989 from there goes right to the Pentagon. Once at the Pentagon you can take a shuttle to the Navy Annex. The Reston East lot is on the Dulles Toll road, about 10 minutes away in the morning commute.

I'm sure we have some people that work there here in the Broadlands, hopefully with the announcement of these forums in this months community newsletter some will join the forums and you can join a carpool.

I would welcome any opportunity to organize or join such a carpool. Thank you for the commuter bus info though.

Another option is taking a bus from Herndon/Monroe to West Falls Church Metro.

When I used to work in Crystal City I rode the 989 from Wiehle. It was very convenient, but my preference is carpooling.

I think my preference will be carpooling as well if I can find someone inside broadlands or two that go into the crystal city area.
