I stopped by the new HOA/Visitor's Center building a week ago and asked the folks there about the new commuter lot. They were uninformed about who is currently providing service into town.

Does anyone know what the story is here?

Anyone know when the New and larger commuter lot will be completed?

Marshall, can you elaborate on this 'Commuter Lot' you mentioned in your message? This is the first time I hear about all this.

Where is the current 'commuter lot'? Where is the new one supposed to be?

I've been here for close to 3 years and this is the first time I hear about a commuter lot within Broadlands...

All I know is that it seems the county required Terrabrook to build a "commuter lot" to serve the development. It is currently the parking lot of the new visitor's center. It will be, shortly, a larger lot off of the Demott Drive extension going down into Broadlands South.

That is the limit of my knowledge and I'm not even sure whether the above is even true. I'm hoping that there is a lurker or a board member who will post the real story.

I posed the question to Wes Schroeder, General Manager of Broadlands, and here is his e-mail reply:

There is a lot down the street where the tennis courts are and the newest lot is temporarily located at the new Nature Center. I am not sure where the final location of the second lot will be. I will get back to you when I find out on the permanent location.

    Which...doesn't really answer the question.

Is there a slug line there into DC or areas of DC?

Is there a bus line that stops at any of those places?

Or is it just a lot for carpoolers to meet and park?

Follow-up email from Wes Schroeder regarding the commuter lot:

I have been able to find out that the new commuter lot's permanent location is going to be in Section 206 or Section 208. These are both commercial sections in the Southern Walk section of Broadlands. Final determination has not been made yet.

    Thanks, Wes!

Is there any news on the mass transit provider who will be servicing the new lot?

Is it Metro, Yellow, a player to be named later?
