I am trying to mount a 35" LED TV on a basement wall near my treadmill. It already has a coax connection on the wall and a Verizon Fios STB. I just need someone to mount the TV and maybe the STB (and another shelf or space for Roku).

How much should I pay for this type of service? Does anyone have experience with a service to do this?

I know the big box stores like Best Buy advertise that they install stuff, but I'm not sure if that means hanging shelves or just plugging in wires. I also couldn't possibly recommend you contract with them for anything, but that's a different story...

Hanging shelves and mounting TVs is a pretty simple project for the average do-it-yourselfer. You just need a few simple tools and everything should come with instructions. The only thing you really have to be careful of is making sure everything is anchored to something strong enough to hold it's weight.

For the TV, make sure you get lag bolts through the mounting bracket into the studs. For the other shelves, it depends how much weight you want to put on them, but you should try to get them into studs or if that's not possible, get some heavy duty drywall anchors.

I'd be shocked if you could find some pro to come out and do it for less than about $200 plus parts. I highly recommend you do it yourself.

Thank you for the advice, but I'd really rather a "pro" did it. It's going to be on a wall where there is a lot going on the other side (gas lines, etc.).

Has anyone used "Hometheaterguy" or some such user name here on the forum?

    hometheatreguy is great.

Honestly though, it is very easy to do yourself. The bracket you purchase will most assuredly come with a mounting guide. A stud finder would be helpful too.

Hometheater guy has an hourly rate around $65 I think. Couldn't see that taking more than an hour. Nice guy, good work.

I think the Roku is an RF-type remote so you can probably double-stick tape it to the back of the TV and use a short hdmi cable. Verizon is supposedly looking at smaller STBs which will be nice -- they are mostly empty space inside em =)
