Went to DD this AM for Sunday coffee and munchkins. When I got home the Missus noticed that the munchkins were stale; powered and sugared. Anyone else notice?:nono:

I agree, they taste terrible. We were thinking the problem is maybe they weren't making them on site like the traditional Dunkin Donuts, but man, these are pretty bad!

Every time we went there the donuts were great - no complaints here.

What did they say when you called to let them know?

One thing I've learned about that DD, they respond to criticism faster than most businesses.

We actually brought our munchkins back to DD! The powdered and cinnamon ones were rock hard...so, David proceeds to tell me that they are supposed to be hard (yea, right). I told him that the chocolate, blueberry and glazed were soft and that is how they should be. He finally relented and gave me some fresh munchkins! This was last week...

Today, we go in at 6:30am and they don't have the munchkins yet...shouldn't they be prepared, especially on a weekend morning?? I hope they work out all the kinks and soon!

Evidently today was not a good morning at DD.

I would like to ask people that if they are having a bad experience at DD, to bring it up to the manager and not "vent" to the employees. The cashier you are venting to may not have any control over the problem.

i'm so glad that our lives here are SO good that the kind of problems we actually take the time to write about are stale donuts. :) we don't have rabid dogs roaming and terrorizing the streets, no stray bullets coming through our walls and windows, and no meth labs (that we KNOW of) in our neighbors' basements.

we're lucky enough to have a handful of businesses within walking/biking distance that offer conveniences and luxuries that many people have to actually <gasp> DRIVE to. they will all ALWAYS be imperfect, as every business is- i just hope the public praise continues to match and even EXCEED the bellyaching, especially since there are probably 50 good experiences for every bad one...

my weekly coffee and little egg wrap thingys from there have been great. i don't eat donuts- my stretch pants won't let me.

Well, the "manager" was a tall, young female and when I asked her if I could talk to the manager/owner, she says, "Say What?"...nice, huh? Not a clue in manners or customer service. Then, that is when David came over and tried to help.

    LOL! So true!

So we just go back and no manager was there...story is s/he has off on weekends (makes no sense)...one poor kid was in there hustling and that's it...

Two women were in there getting ice cream while we were trying to get munchkins (no munchkins - ugh)...one says to the other, "I wonder if the donuts are stale today?" Seems like there is a problem with the freshness of the product.

Are the donuts made on the premises or delivered from another DD store?

How much does it cost to open a Dunkin' Donuts Franchises?
    Total Investment: $255,700-$1,100,000
    Initial Franchise Fee: $40,000-$80,000
    Royalty Fee: 5.9%

Personally, if I sunk this kind of money into a business, and saw lots of other businesses in this area failing, I would make sure the tables were clean and the donuts were fresh-EVERY DAY. It's really just business 101.

Otherwise word will get out, and you'll see a big FOR LEASE sign on the building.

It's so bad at DD, my kids don't even want to go there. And they will eat any :censored:

got a stale bagel report today from the Man and The Boy- luckily it really WAS our biggest problem of the weekend... life is good.

BIG DOG is absolutely right- to quote the famous George Michael song- "if you're gonna do it do it RIGHT right."

you are getting bogus information..............the Manager is not off on weekends........He was supposed to open @4:30 A>M on Saturday and on duty until 2:00 P.M..........at 3.30 A.M he woke up and was violently sick........you know praying on your knees in front of the bowl type of sick...........he fell back to sleep and never called senior management.........the store was without supervision on Saturday and I did not find out until 11:00 A.M only by accident as I was viewing from a remote access camera site...........needless to say Saturday was a bad day..........we have put procedures in place to avoid another mishap like that..............apologies are in order.............thahk you.................Jimmy

I've not been to the store yet so I can not comment on freshness or management. But, I sure hope the "violently sick" manager stays home for good long time before bringing the kind of sickness described back to a food establishmemt. On a side note, I hope he is feeling better. Lastly, now that I know that an employee was vomiting and violently sick I certainly will not be eating there for a while. That is the last thing I need to catch. Thanks for letting us know!

if i may add my 2 cents- neighbor- that's excessive. symptoms sounded a lot like food poisoning- which isn't contagious. do you know how many sick people are in public places you go every day? does not knowing mean you'll continuing using the pool, going to the store, visiting neighbors, and going to work, even though sick people with the flu, food poisoning and god knows WHAT all run through?

come- on- cut the guy some slack- it's tough enough doing what he does in a place like this. :shakehead:

I agree he is doing his best. However, he wanted feedbacks. Good and Bad.

At least if it is bad feedback, he can try to correct ( if it is at all possible ).
Keep up the good customer service. Thanks.
