Does anyone know of the family who was involved? The boy was 8 years old so I would imagine this would have an impact on whatever school he attended.
My husband saw this last night on his way home from work and we listened in on the scanner for a little while.
There are rumors swirling that the driver was intoxicated but it's important to note that according to the sheriff's report he was not.
    So terribly sad.

I just saw a report that this child was a student at Dominion Trail Elementary. I also heard that the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrians had the green light. So sad...

The boy was in first grade at Dominion Trail. A letter to parents will be sent home with children in their take home folders. A meeting for school staff members will be held after school. I don't believe that the children at school have been told yet. Tomorrow will be a tough day at school for students and staff alike as the word spreads and the children in the class begin to grasp what happened.

I have seen no reports of driver intoxication.

The Dominion Trail community is saddened by the loss of one of our students, Beshoy Eryan.

The PTA and the school are partnering to raise funds for Beshoy's family. Donations can be dropped off at Dominion Trail Elementary's front office. Checks may be made out to the DTES PTA. Our address is 44045 Bruceton Mills Circle, Ashburn, VA 20147.
