As T8erman said, we really liked Fords. However, after reading this whole thread I have to show you people what a real lobster roll looks like. You need to see the whole claw meat on the tops!

This was made by me with lobsters from Luftinarr!! She's the lobster hookup!!

Toasted Pepperidge Farms New England Split top roll (toasted in a pan with butter), lemon juice, a little chopped celery for crunch, melted butter, and mayo. The meat is still just a tiny bit warm--not cold. Sprinkle of Lemon Herb Old Bay on top. Umm umm good.

ok, so I only eat lobster hot with a tad of melted butter. Don't even know what clam bellies are (and would most likely not eat them) don't do octopus or other wierd seafood, so I have to say if the basic lobster is good, and the crab and shrimp are, then i can go there. Will eat some fish, but not most. Don't see the point of swallowing a whole oyster. Grew up NW of Chigago on real steak (nummmmm). Found the love of shrimp via shrimp cocktail as a kid - graduated beyond that now. Never had pate, but might try it sometime before my time is up on this earth. But I do like asparagus and eggplant:)

My husband and I had lunch at FFS today. We tried the Maine Chips which we thought were pretty unique. We both agreed the chips were a little greasy and thought the toppings would have been good on some other type of chip/cracker. We still enjoyed them, though. More than enough for 3 or 4 people to share.

I had the wedge salad and clam chowder. (I’m not a huge seafood fan). They were pretty good. I’ve attached a picture of the salad. Husband had the fish sandwich. Generous piece of fried fish on the bun. My first thought was all that fried batter was going to make him queasy but I tried a bite and it was really light and airy. Picture of that, too.

Overall we enjoyed it but I don’t know if we’d go back. Well, I think I’d like to take my mother, who grew up in New England and adores lobster. They didn’t have a dedicated lunch menu so it’s a little pricey for a weekday lunch. Maybe if we were both seafood lovers…

The fish sandwich was $9 (I think). There were several other sandwiches (crab cake, lobster roll) but they were in the $14 and up range. I'm sure this reflects the cost of the ingredients. The entrées started around $16 (again, just going from memory)

We spent $36 for an app, a fish sandwich, a bowl of chowder and a [generous but not meal sized] salad. Plus two ice teas. Plus $7 tip. (we don't normally get an appetizer with lunch but I really wanted to try the Maine Chips. I think they were $9)

I'm far from an expert, but in order for a restaurant to do well, they need to have a good lunch crowd to take up the slack. I just don't know if you'd get a lot of repeat lunch business at that high of a price point. There are plenty of other good places in the area to go to for a lot less $$.

We went last night and had their "catch of the day" Swordfish steak and their fish and chips. Both were great!

I don't eat out that much normally, but have eaten at FFS five times already. I can't get enough of it! I've tried something different every time and everything has been great. I even took my 'very hard to please' inlaws and the loved it too.

Can anyone post the dinner menu here? The link on the website doesn't work, and I cannot locate it anywhere else. http://www.fordsfishshack.com/

    Thanks!

I went for lunch yesterday. $52 for me and a co-worker. We had the chips (delish) lobster roll (eh. Lobster was good, can live without the rest) and crab cakes (gooood!) Over all - not bad. Service was very good

I know! Co-worker ordered the crab cakes from the dinner menu, not the lunch menu. So. Yeah. $52.

Gotta admit it...the Lobsta' roll was as good as any I've had in Boston or Maine!

great food ain't cheap. you can get perfectly mediocre for cheap at ihop though...

i'vbe been here 3 times already and each was better than the next. i don't even consider price as a factor here because I'm there for the excellent food and service, and it's always well worth every penny.

LET'S TALK DESSERT. so the whoopie pie. unreal- soft chocolae cakeu cookies sandwich-ing sweet whipped cream cheese- a sprinkle of sea salt and then you pour hot fudge over it... i dunno how the menu describes it but i call it a chocolate-y tongue hug... ohhhh soooo unreal. still- the blueberry pie is unbeatable.

the boy and i are going there again soon and we'll START with dessert and work our way back to the angry mussel apps... oh i live this place. can't believe we are sooo lucky.

$80 family of four - 2 kids meals, no alcohol w/ tip. Deviled Eggs appetizer - save your money, and 2 very average lobster rolls. Slaw good, corn over seasoned.

Trying to get through the light on to Waxpool after dinner, priceless.

Wow - this place is a gem. I'm so pleased to see a new indie restaurant doing well and doing the right things in Ashburn. We had our first visit last night - it was packed!

Let me just say the food is one up from Bonefish. If you've ever had Bonefish's Fish and Chips (little too greasy for my liking) you'll adore Ford's fish and chips. Crispy, well presented, and delish! The condiments of tartar sauce, coleslaw were equally great - clearly homemade.

Service was a little clunky, but our waiter was well aware of the kinks and did his upmost to make sure we were happy.

One thing - if you order appetizers - as our server explained - they come out in 5 minutes, followed in another 5 minutes by the entree. So unless you can eat as fast as my dog, ask them to slow it down a little. They are glad to do so.

All in all - great food, same prices as Bonefish, and refreshingly different for the 'burbs.
