We wanted to invite our neighbors to join us at one or more of our upcoming FREE Back-to-School Workshops in the area. If homework time is less than pleasant, come on out. If your kids or spouse are less than pleasant, come on out :)

I've posted the official announcement and locations below, but I promise that you will laugh, have a few "Ah-hah" moments and walk away with at least a dozen very practical tools that will help you on a daily basis. Plus it's free!

Free Workshop for Parents & Teachers
Do you want your child/student to take responsibility for his homework, morning routine and chores? Need help channeling defiance and disrespect into internal motivation? Do you need help calming your explosive household? Want to learn 10 Brain Boosting strategies to help your students in class?

Join us for a humorous, practical workshop with best-selling author and nationally-recognized expert Kirk Martin, who has trained over 35,000 parents and teachers. Celebrate Calm specializes in working with intense children, including families affected by Anxiety, Sensory issues, Aspergers, Autism, ODD, OCD and AD/HD.

Martin will provide practical strategies to:
    • Create a Stress-Free home—eliminate yelling, arguing and whining.
    • Improve focus, attention and behavior in class.
    • Create stress-free discipline and homework time.
    • Channel disrespect and defiance into positive experiences.
    • Develop vision, motivation and responsibility in teens.
    • Relieve anxiety and sensory integration issues.

Martin will explain why your kids are bossy, anxious, and easily overwhelmed; sabotage friendships, demand fairness and say, “I’m bored”; like to argue, fidget, make noises or chew; have difficulty writing, sleeping and maintaining eye contact. Medication, nutrition and handling siblings will be addressed as well.

The Workshop is FREE to the community. Teachers, parents, grandparents and all caregivers are encouraged to attend.

Just a reminder to come on out to the above events. We're in the midst of 9 straight days of Workshops in Texas, Louisiana and Georgia...and can't wait to get back home to Broadlands!

We'll be discussing all of the above PLUS how to create effective Behavior Plans and even more tools for improving focus in school and during homework time. Best of all, it's free :)

Tolbert Elementary is probably the best bet for Broadlands folks...it's just down Belmont Ridge, across Rt 7, and then hang a left. See you there!
