    Hi Broadlanders,
Does anyone know off the top of their head where I may be able to haul off an old sofabed for disposal? Barring the odd circumstance when someone may actually want it from me, it looks like the local "junk hauler" companies are going to be too expensive for me. I could just haul it out myself but I don't know where I'd take it. Thought someone here might know off the top of their heads....

    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Kick it to the curb. The trash people will take it.

I think the trash people will take it but I think I read somewhere that you should call them for large pickups to let them know in advance.

Some of the charities (Purple Heart, Lupus, etc) will come and pick them up. If the trash company won't take it, there is always the Loudoun County Dump. I believe it will cost you money, but I can't remember for sure.

    Good luck

Craigs List. Mark it as free. It will go.

    Thanks all! Great minds here.

I placed on FreeCycle and got a hit... Craigslist next if nothing comes from FreeCycle.

I hope free is enough of a mover for this thing. :)

Thanks for the info, if all else fails, I'll call New Vision and see what they say.

I called AmVets and scheduled a pickup for a sofa, loveseat, and kitchen table. They're coming here on the 11th to pick up my stuff....no fee either.

Nice, what time? If they're in the neighborhood, I can schedule around then and then they can make it a single trip.

They don't have a scheduled time, but it's anywhere between 8 and 5. I just called to confirm my pickup and the lady said if you wanted to schedule a pickup as well, you can call her directly. Her name is Sabrina and her number is 800-526-8387 x34.

I used their website to schedule for 2/11, but when they called me back they wanted to pick up tomorrow on 2/10 which is a-ok with me.

Thanks for the tip, I feel much better about donating this than trashing it or just giving away to a complete stranger.

One more reason why I love this community.

What??? They offered you the 10th? Why I oughta.... I specifically asked for the 10th and they said they didn't have it. Bummer, bummer, bummer. Glad it worked out for you though!

    Actually it didn't.
They didn't think the item was in good enough condition to take it away.

Guess New Vision gets it on Thursday.

Oh that stinks. Sorry about that! At least you tried! That's what matters.
