Is this property adjacent to the School Board or someplace else in Broadlands?

It is the property along Demott across from the Southern Walk Apartments and Harris Teeter bordering the raised boardwalk.

Is there any timeframe on when they would start the development?

They're "exploring" the possibility for now.

    Wait a minute! How outrageous!
    It will bring traffic!
    It will bring noise!
It will bring irresponsible teenagers and "utes" to the neighborhood!
    What about the trees!
    It will ruin my view!
    It's not zoned for it!
It will bring wonton and lascivious behavior!
It will bring irresponsible speeders onto our streets!

    Did I miss any???????
    Feel free to pile on.

(Please note the above post is meant as a joke.)

Isn't there already college level "competition" in the immediate area? Why do we need more so close by? ;)

vacliff, I think you need to check yourself into a hospital.

On another note, these potential college students certainly don't have much money and drive beat up, dilapidated, unsafe death cars. Who is responsible the first time one of these texting college students tries to hit the brakes on a unmaintained vehicle and smashes into a school bus. Don't laugh your kid could be on that bus. I don't want our grade school kids exposed to this hazard. I have formed a citizen group (currently I only have 3,331 names in the group) to fight this. If you're reading this I am sure you're as concerned as me, so I'll add you to the list. It's called Concerned Citizens against Education.

What is this "wonton" behavior you speak of? It sounds fun!

It will bring business to many in Broadlands. I am going after them to make it a LEED certified, wildlife friendly, green campus.... I greatly appreciate all the support... Where do I begin.. I did the same thing with HCA and they agreed but we lost that opportunity...

For a moment there, I thought you were serious...

But wait...Cliff...if you want to check yourself in to a REAL hospital, you'll have to go to Reston.

Agreed on this point! Driving by NVCC on route 7 is scary as hell the way those kids drive and speed up to like 70 just to pass you to stop and make a turn into the school. It's horrible and not what should be in a residential neighborhood.

I have added all of you to my list. Plus I was at a PTA meeting last night and picked up another 53 names for our group. Hope they don't mind I found them on the registration table. If you happen to have email address that you think would like to be added to the list go ahead and sent them to me. We all have to be united on this. BTW, if you happen to be the person or group that sent me a check with money for our buses and food thank you. You're so sweet to think about the effort. But I must say $1350 is an lot of money but what the heck, I'll have some money left over for some t-shirts.

Are you people serious??? This is a great opportunity to have some more schooling options for those that don't have the luxury of "going away" for college not to mention the jobs that will be created as a result of this! Would you rather another strip mall to go in there? Another HT, gas station, Thai restaurant, nail salon, etc to encourage loitering? You think that the kids speeding in cars don't come out of our neighborhoods? They speed no matter where they are. Just because they're in a residential community doesn't mean they're going to slow down. Just because they're on Rt. 7 doesn't mean they're going to slow down.

Come on, people, get a grip.
