George Mason University is comming to Loudoun

    This is from the Leesburg Today article:

    (Roy) Barnett was also clear that the land deal is an outright gift, with no ties to any other application or anything else related to Van Metre or Broadlands.
    "There are no conditions associated with the donation," he said.

    Latest news is that GMU will be asking for master planning money this year from the General Assembly. That will give us a better idea of what the campus might look like, and phasing of development. Actual buildings are at least a few years off unless some miraculous funding shows up.

    I believe that Van Metre is bidding on the building of the complex, it will be interesting to see who else makes a bid.

    Is that land considered part of Southern Walk? If so, the GMU campus would greatly expand the customer base of OpenBand.

    It's part of the Commercial Property Association, and I believe Openband is dead as far as any new connections. I don't believe the SouthernWalk shopping center was even required to use them.
