Woodys on Route 7 used to have free group lessons on Saturday mornings. They can at least give you the very basics.

I took lessons through the Nike Golf School at the Reston course. I thought it was a good deal for all it came with, and the instructor was awesome. I took an intermediate class, but pretty sure they had beginner as well.

thanks for the info so far. Anyone have experience with Brambleton or the Dulles Golf Center (the driving range off of 28N)?

I've gone often to the range off of Route 28. They have a few pros who will give lessons to include video lessons. You can have individual or group lessons. Although I have not been recently there is/was (?) a 9 hole par 3 course off of Route 50 near Centerville/Chantilly. It also had a golf school. It's a great place to go to either for lessons or to practice your short game.

Any Broadlands golfers up for some best ball teams????

I am up for a golf outing anytime. But I usually cause issues when playing team events as I am low handicap.

We took lessons last year at Brambleton, and were very happy with the instructor. You can check his site at www.golfurheadoff.com.

Woddy's is not free, we checked into them as well. We also had one private lesson there, but liked Tom Buckley better. Planning on picking it up again next month, when I have recovered a little more from my surery.

I'll bite...what's your handicap? I took up golf while overseas and then kicked myself for not going previously when my Dad was always trying to persuade me to golf with him. I love the game. I started out with a 36 handicap [:I] but by the time I returned stateside it was down to an 11... However I've not golfed too much since I've been back so I am sure it is getting back up there again.

Now...above all being said, once this weather cooperates I'll be happy to post a separate thread suggesting a date/place/time and see how many Broadland takers we get to set up our own little informal best ball tourney!

greetings, was just checking the forums for the first time. Fair Oaks golf park on 50 has "Natural Golf" demos every tuesday, at 5pm. the other pros there also teach lessons. south riding is pretty good as well, they seem nice and i have actually played with the assistant pro, Ian.

always up for a golf outing, anyone interested in trying to get a group together on a regular basis? best ball or any format.
