    Hi all,
I tried searching the forums and perhaps didn't use the right search terms... is there any good barbecue to be had local to Broadlands? Someplace we can go to sit for dinner. I don't mind going a little out of the way, but Leesburg at the farthest....

If not, I'll settle for someplace we can go and take-home, if that's all there is.
And if there's none at all - not even passable - I guess I'll just have to take a road trip! Or, settle for something else.

    Thanks!

I really like Carolina Brothers Barbecue, which is located on Ashburn Road near Hay Road / W&OD Trail. It's the real deal -- you can see their big smokers out front, and the price is pretty reasonable.

It's a chain, but Famous Dave's in Sterling by the Home Depot is pretty good. Red Hot and Blue is a local chain that's popular, too.

I wish there were some independently owned places around here, but there isn't much. The closest I know of is the Carolina Brothers BBQ that operates out of the old Partlow's on Ashburn Road. Supposedly the location where Del Rey closed in the Broadlands Shopping Center is going to have a BBQ place in it.

Nothing comes close to Willards Pit Barbeque in Chantilly. It is totally fantastic.

Carolina Brothers is the best I've had north of NC. They do the real vinegar-based sauce, as opposed to the sweet red sauce. It's great and it's local.

I personally like the RED HOT sauce...not crazy about sweet, therefore don't like Carolina Brothers, but I do enjoy Famous Dave's and then I can put on the "Devils Spit" sauce. YUM!
