Ok folks, any good recommendations for places to get a haircut and style for a trendy young guy?

My husband and I are having a hair crisis, with a HS reunion coming up in a few weeks, I'd really like to find him a place that will actually cut his hair correctly.

Most salons in the area cater so much to women that I'm not sure where I can take him that'll give him a cut that suits his personality. Barber shops just give him a cookie-cutter office look that is completely wrong for him.

    Any ideas?

I recommend Micky at Radiance, near the Safeway. I thought he was quite good, both for my wife and me. He really listened and did a good job. I consider myself picky and I will definitely go back to him.

For fifteen bucks, have him go see Mina at Sport Clips. It's really hard to screw up my haircut, but most people around here find a way to do it. She does an excellent job. The only problem I have with someone who finally does a good job with my haircut is that they wind up pregnant and quit. I wonder if it's my hair?

I go to Christy at Radiance, started a month or so ago. She does a great job. I tried several of the "barber shops" and chains (HC & SC) but never liked the way it came out. Personally I dont like paying the $$$, but then again I come home and it looks good. The half likes it too :)

Although I go to Radiance (Jan) for myself my spouse goes to the Barber Shop right beside Safeway. He makes sure to ask for Ann who is the owner's daughter. He likes a "George Clooney" style and Ann does a great job.

Interestingly enough, we went to both this weekend. My husband who hadn't had a haircut in over a year went to Radiance on Saturday, and walked out looking like Liam Gallagher, frontman of the band Oasis circa 1997. He was not comfortable with this.

Monday evening we went to SportClips next to Safeway to "correct" the haircut, he got a nice clean modern guy's haircut that looks good on him, from a nice lady for a fourth of the price.

It's all about what yur looking for, but we shoulda just gone straight to SportClips. :)

That's funny - I get mine done by Jan too and hubby gets his done at the Barber Shop by Ann who also did my daughter's first haircut.

You're right..what a coincidence! I tried to persuade my husband to try Radiance but he's of the traditional view that a man can only go to a "barber shop." [:p]

I'd side with your husband on this...

Men *go* to a barber shop...men get *taken* to a stylist.
