hourly moving company

    Can anyone recommend a moving company that charges by the hour?

    We're moving a very short distance (less than 2 miles), but we're thinking about hiring a moving company for a short time period to move the larger items.

    I'm trying to find out if this is even worth the cost. Do operations like this usually charge a minumu rate?

    Try Able Moving - we used them to move a few blocks into a temp apt and then into our home. NO extra charges for anything!! Was very happy with their service. www.ablemoving.com

    I second Able moving. We have used them twice for local moves. They charge by the hour and came in under their estimates both times.

    Make sure you ask what their minimum is. I had a mover help with a small job that took 4 hours and when it came time to pay they pointed to the small print on the contract that stated the minimum time was 5 hours...

    be careful... I had two guys that showed up in a ford pick-up truck and a horse trailer from strausburg. What a nightmare!! LOL
    It was not funny at the time though!
