VM has to reposition our condenser and wants to use a plastic pad. My gut is saying to set it on a nice, thick concrete slab, but have read pro's / con's on each.

Anyone have any specific issues / recommendations?

    Thanks

I would go with the concrete, they are pre-made /per-formed. The plastic will deteriorate much faster than concrete.

The contractors all use plastic now. Concrete is overkill as long as the base is well prepped.

It's the ground - not the plastic you need to worry about

The key is keeping the unit level. Concrete is the way to go and if it is on concrete now I would insist that it stay that way.

We have plastic one, and since the ground was not prepared, it made it easier to pick it up and level it out. Our AC tech didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with having plastic.
