What a great game! To see Illinois dominate in the 4th quarter and go for it on 4th and 1 in their own territory...loved it.

Sorry T8erman, but I love seeing the big teams lose, especially those whose fans become obnoxious...you know, like the Sawx and Buckeyes ;)

I'll cry with you. But we do have next week to look forward to!!! The stakes for Michigan are the same regardless of whether they won or lost today. OSU, however, can kiss the National championship goodbye!

Well, there IS Navy too ... not only did they have one of the best games of their lives last week, they just won their game today against North Texas 74-62, and yes that is a football score, not basketball.

    ...

...and in regulation. The 2nd quarter alone was 35-28. Insane!

Illinois should thank the refs. How can you only have 1 penalty the whole game? I also loved the fumble that wasn't called on their first drive.

boo hoo!! Illinois dominated on the ground in the 4th quarter. Buckeyes only had the ball for slightly more than a minute the entire quarter. That's domination!

I did not get to see the game but apparantly, it was a fumble. Several talking heads were wondering why it was not reviewed and some even commented about the lack of penalties called on BOTH teams.

However, throwing 3 picks DEEP in Illinois territory cost the Buckeyes. If they had scored on 2 of those 3 drives, even with a field goals, it may have been a different outcome.

If they beat Michigan, the Rose Bowl is not a bad place to land! :D

BUT, there are still alot of games to be played and who knows.....
    :rolleyes3:

T8 is still living in fantasyland where he thinks OSU might still have a shot at the Nation Championship game.

I meant alot of games in general. Most the the teams that will be above OSU in the BCS still have 2-3 games left, including some Conference championship games.

Cliff, with the plethora of upsets this year, the whole SEASON has been one big Fantasy Land!

I figured that is what you meant and was just being a joker. OSU is going to need a lot of help to get back to one of the top two BCS spots. Of course how far they will fall will make a huge difference but losing to an unranked foe certainly won't be in their favor and Michigan's loss to another unranked this week only weakens OSU's potential strength of schedule. Fortunately three of likely the top five are Big12 and still have some beating up to do on each other thanks to games yet to be played and of course the Big12 Champ which will guarantee at least one more highly ranked loss but could at the same time solidify one of the teams. In any case I agree there is still a lot of good football to be watched!

I am sure the Bucks will fall a bit farther than they should. I think the voters still have a hangover from last year's championship game considering the lack of "belief" in the Buckeyes this year.

The problem as I see it this year is that there are no clear dominant teams (including LSU :D). Any of the top 10-12 could easily win the NC but also lose to an inferior opponent (wait, I think they all have except Kansas, who has OSU Syndrome - weak schedule). This year alone would make great reason for a playoff.

As for losing to an unranked foe, Illinois might be ranked after this game. But I think "only" the SEC has any teams with 3 losses in the top 25. ;)

My bet is on a Kansas loss in the upcoming games. They still need to play #6 Missouri and if they win that they'll play in the Big12 champ which likely will be against #5 Oklahoma. Rankings are based on last week's standing.

Don't forget Penn St at #23 at 7-3, but I get your point. SEC does (or did) have 7 teams in the top 25. I'd expect Bama to fall out after yesterday.
