Kansas is a total unknown to me except that they are playing tremendous football. I think they can beat Mizzou as I am not sure they have had a tough schedule either. And if they do play Okla, they may have a decent chance as Okla has looked very beatable in "away" games.

As for the polls, I was going on the human vote (I think PSU was 25).

As for the SEC, I do think they are the deepest conference but I also do not think they are head-and-shoulders above any other conference either as some of the so-called analysts harp on.

Personally, I do not think OSU should fall out of the top 10. With BC and ASU losing do you move a 2 loss Georgia ahead of the Buckeyes? Maybe, since they are from the almighty SEC. ;). Do you move undefeated Hawaii ahead of them when no one has moved them much all year?

Usually I believe a late-in-season loss hurts more than an early loss, so I would expect OSU to fall at least past ASU. We can only wait and see if they fall past Georgia but I agree they should stay in the top 10. BC has lost two now so they'll certainly be out of the top 10 since they were only at #8 before.

Hawaii is out of luck having not played a ranked team and had a few close calls with teams that they should have blown away. They do have #20 Boise coming up. If they win out I suspect they'll finish high and in a BCS bowl but not the championship.

True. If you look at just the top 18 then the 3 loss teams yields only one.... your favorite!

I think LSU is the team to beat.

Sorry about your Buckeyes, T8erman. As a fan of college football (and not a particular team -- I attended JMU, a I-AA school), I am actually pretty excited at the prospect of an LSU - Oregon BCS Championship should those teams win their remaining games. In my view, the SEC and PAC-10 are pretty clearly the two best conferences this year, and I for one was not looking forward to another blowout in the championship like last year (I'm afraid that Ohio State vs. LSU/Oregon would have yielded a similar result to the Ohio State - Florida game last year).

I went to school in the Pac 10 and this is how it always was that weekend. Oregon/OSU, Washington/WSU, etc. I figured that was pretty common, no?

Don't overlook the Big12. Just look at the BCS top 5 and you'll see three BIG12 teams.

I think that the Big 12 is way overrated -- that 3 are in the Top 5 just magnifies what is wrong with college football (and the BCS) and why we need a playoff in order to determine a champion. I can name 4 teams in the SEC (LSU, Florida, Georgia and Auburn) that I believe would probably go undefeated in the Big 12 -- unfortunately for the SEC, these teams play and beat each other all year long, so there is only one 1-loss team. Most of the major conferences (Big East, ACC, Big Ten, Big 12) are mediocre this year.

Yes, it is pretty common for this coming weekend and the weekend after Thanksgiving to have the big rivalry games. What Pac-10 school did you attend ?

The SEC has certainly done it's share of beating up each other this year. Note Tennessee is in the drivers seat to take the SEC-E (I hope they do) and they aren't even in the "elite four" that you've listed. I'd be scared of a Florida-LSU rematch in the SEC championship and 2005's Georgia-LSU championship meeting still haunts me. Of course the 2003 Georgia-LSU championship meeting was a good one
