My neighbors son and one of his friends play and absolutely love it. My son wants to play but it conflicts with his soccer. We watched it one weekend, it looked like a lot of fun. It isn't one of these huge leagues, which kind of makes it a bit more relaxing and fun. Didn't seem like a huge commitment.

I'm also looking for info regarding a summer flag football camp/team for an 8 year old boy. Does anyone have any advice re the different leagues?

    Thanks.

Don't know anything about i9, but the Spring and Fall leagues are run by 2 different people. The leagues are both well run and really appear to have the kids intrest as the top priority. The problems I have seen with both leagues is some of the coaches. Most of the coaches believe in letting all of the kids on the teams play their fair share. While some play the best kids on every down and sub 1 or 2 of the "non-stars" only when they are up by a couple of TD's. If you are lucky to get a coach who will play the kids at various positions your child (boy or girl) will enjoy it a whole lot more. (one of the best QB's I saw this Spring was a girl. If the coach played her at QB most of the time they wouldn't have lost!)

I believe the Fall league is filling up, I heard something along the lines of 9-11 year olds having 24 teams.

I hope this helps, my boys have really enjoyed playing flag so much, they both stopped playing soccer.

as for the clinics, it will help your child understand the basics of pulling the flag and running plays. I know a couple of the coaches for the clinics and they will teach your kids and let them try different positions.

    Enjoy!

Thanks for the info. This seems a lot more complicated than soccer.
