Has anyone gotten a Maggie Moos ice cream cake? How is it? How long does it take to order a certain design? And with ice cream cakes, are you suppossed to let them sit outside of the freezer for a certain amount of time before cutting them?? I remember being at a party once where we took the cake right out of the freezer and had trouble cutting it.

    Thanks!

never had a maggie moo's but we had a cold stone creamery cake for my son's birthday that was sinfully delicious and worth every calorie, and most of the dollars. :)

Maggie Moos are very good too - a bit over the top, and a little expensive - but yummy! I'm pretty sure there are instructions on the box telling you how long to let it soften before serving.

Milwaukee Frozen Custard does ice cream (custard) cakes, too. I haven't had one from there but the regular custard is great! As far as thawing, I would leave it out for maybe 5 minutes but not much more since the outside will melt faster than the inside. Dip the knife in hot water in between slices to help it cut through better.

I've done Maggie Moos twice and since it's so close I just pick it up right when the party starts, let it sit for no more than 20 minutes and have had no problem cutting it. If I recall you have to order maybe 4-5 days in advance. I don't plan to order from them again because both times I was disappointed by the decoration on top. It didn't look HALF as good as the photo did. But they tasted good.

Hi! We got a Maggie Moos cake for our party at The Little Gym. We picked up at 3pm, arrived at 3:15pm and they stored it in the freezer for us until 4:30pm. They took it out a few minutes early and used a knife ran under hot tap water to cut it. Very easy - great tip for anyone out there! It was delicious! We loved the design as well. You can order anytime up to 2-3 days in advance and a full sheet is around $50 (so yes a bit pricey but soooo worth it!). Tip- I see $3 off coupons here and there you may want to check around on the internet or local newspapers. Enjoy!

We usually get a cake out of the freezer at Cold Stone in Brambleton. Usually the cookie dough is our favorite! And it stays in the freezer for a good long time.
