Need Advice iPod Repair

My daughter has an iPod Classic 30GB that is about 15 months old. It will not respond - at all: blank screen, will not reset, have tried the 5 R's.

Does anyone know of a shop that does iPod repairs in the area with a low cost for diagnosis? Alternatively, can you recommend one of the on-line repair shops that you ship the iPod to?

I'm really surprised that resetting it didn't work. My advice is to take it to the Genius Bar at the Apple store. They can fix just about anything.

 

My iPod classic 30g did the same thing in April. I brought it to the Apple store and they said that the hard drive crashed. To replace it would cost the same amount to buy a new one.

 

I just got a report from my daughter. The Geniuses are geniuses. The iPod battery was run down so far that it would not take a charge from the USB port. They gave it a bit of juice and told her to take it home, charge it up, and not let the battery run so low again.

Others should note that you need an appointment with the Geniuses. You can do it on line. I figured it out when I showed up yesterday during the lunch hour...
