It's been a while since this was asked...so thought I'd ask again. Does anyone have any recommendations for carpet cleaners? We used Liberty Chem Dry last time and they were horrible. Took forever to dry when it's only supposed to take an hour or two, and stains came back when I didn't think they were supposed to with Chem Dry. Thanks!

We've always used Technicleaners in Herndon (703-435-0639) and have been very pleased. It's tough to get on their calendar however if you want them to come on a Saturday. They always have arrived on time and are very professional and get right to work and do a great job.

It has been a long time since there were any updates to this. Does anyone have a recommendation for a carpet cleaner?

I recently used All Pro Carpet Cleaners (703)777-6767, recommended by a friend. He was GREAT! And very resonably priced. Didn't try to push an up-sell for carpet protectant or anything like that. I used Chem Dry back in February and wasn't too thrilled with them. The carpets didn't seem "clean" after they were done.

JCB Carpet Cleaners. He did a FANTASTIC job on our rugs when we were moving. The carpet was white and 7 years old and he got out every stain including the dark "stuff" in the corners and along side of the carpet (he prides himself on that). Phone number is 703-239-0406. He is also reasonably priced and very reliable.

JCB came out this week...He worked hard to get out a traffic stain and it looks great! Thanks for the referral and I would certainly use him again.

For our townhouse to clean both the upstairs and downstairs carpet (we had hardwood flooring on the middle level) it cost us approx. $300.

Did this include any stairs? I assume it didn't include moving furniture around, correct?

Yes, it included two sets of stairs and no furniture moving as we had already moved to the new house. However, when I had Loudoun Cleaners clean the carpet at an earlier date it was approximately the same price and they did have to move the furniture (they just couldn't get all the stains out--and I had them back twice to fix).

Based on the recommendations on the forum, we hired JCB to clean our carpets. We are extremely pleased with the results and highly recommend Joe. After 7 years, our light tan carpet looks almost new. All the stains, including the black stains around the edges of the carpet, are gone. After considering getting new carpet, we're glad all we had to do was have JCB come to clean our old one and make it seem like new.

Does JCB use a dry chemical process, a steam extraction process, or a rotary brush process?

I am not sure. We had already moved out of the house when he cleaned the carpet so I just let him in and then locked up when he was done. His phone number is at the beginning of this thread if you want to call and ask.

I contacted Joe yesterday. He uses a hot water extraction process and applies a stain resistance solution during the rinse process. He said it doesn't leave a film and actually helps restore the luster of the carpet. He's coming out next week. I'll let everyone know how it works out. Thank you!

    KTdid...how'd they do?

Does anyone know of a place that does carpet cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, & air duct cleaning? The company we used to use is no longer in business...GRRR!

Well, I haven't replied because I'm still upset but not about the cleaning job. The cleaning went well. Prior to that though he helped himself upstairs unescorted and opened a closed door where I'm holding a foster cat and in turn told me he did not open the door! Fortunately, the stray was so scared he hid under the comforter and didn't try to run. He also began unloading equipment before I got home so I didn't have a chance to pen my animals and one cat got so freaked he went head first into the sliding glass door. It's still behaving strangely. And to top it all off - he cleaned an area smaller than 6x8 and said he had to change me the min $100.

Other than this, I'd say the cleaning was done well.

I don't care how clean the carpets were; wandering the house unescorted and opening closed doors is an immediate red light to me. I would definately look elsewhere to get my carpets cleaned, regardless as to how spotless they would look...
