    Hi there,

I know this is a last ditch effort, but is there anyone out there interested in hiring a Systems Engineer with a background working for defense firms? Anyone know of any good recruiters?....

We really want to stay in the community here, but are having a hard time finding a good job.

    THANKS!

Anyone interested in this area in hiring a systems analyst? Defense contractor with some proposal experience, manager for admin staff, operations of facilities, HR and training, plus background in print, graphics, web deign, layout, editing? Worked for a lot of small companies so have a broad background. Offical title is Facility Operations Manager, Sr. Multimedia Developer. Use to say Facility Security & Administrative Officer, Sr. Multimedia Developer but was too long LOL!

Tater -- what kind of clearances? Or rather, what is minimum clearance? I've got an active clearance although my TS expired.

    Hi everybody-

Glad to see such an interest... 7 years experience in electrical engineering with an emphasis on RF testing. I have a physics & math degree. I started working for the D.O.D. and obtained a TS/SCI clearance. Unfortunately, since 2002 my clearance hasn't remained active, but I should be able to obtain one again quickly. I would be happy to send my resume to anyone and if anyone has a good recruiter that would be great too. Currently, I have been made an offer with Raytheon in Boston,MA, but really would love to stay in this area. I didn't receive any emails, please send again if you could... birdieart@hotmail.com
Thanks and glad to see people are reading :)

Job market in the area has not been good over last 4 months in DoD market. No one wants to spend money because of the cost of the war, and budget cuts plus the BRAC. It will be even worse next year (my opinion). I have been going to alot of career fairs but not much comes of it - other than I get some more pens and stand in line alot. I am too looking for a good recruiter and have not been able to find one. I think too many people looking for jobs so the recruiters don't have to really look hard for people. Hope you find something here. I hope I do too!

    hberg,
Funny, I keep hearing how "booming" the industry is, but I have had the same experiences at the career fairs, etc. Hopefully, We can collaborate and find something... Does anyone know anything about Boston? (aside from being very cold)

It wasn't a problem .. they're doing some housekeeping, and basically creating new areas, and moving threads to these new areas.

About jobs in this area ... things are going to be changing as far as job locations, etc with the DoD move to decentralize their locations.

From what I can tell, Crystal City is going to be emptied of DoD offices, which also means that alot of Beltway Bandits will be moving where the DoD offices move.

That could be outlying areas of Metro Washington, it could be out of the area completely.

This is true, most likely Ft. Belvoir area and Huntsville and Fort Bliss. It changes some of the dynamics - but I would hate to be looking for work next year hence my drive to get it done now.
