First of all I want to address what I have noticed in the last few weeks, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same bunch of kids doing this, but there has been a lot of disrespect going on in the community. One day I was driving behind a Blue Jeep Liberty and saw someone throw a bottle of water out onto a neighbor walking along the path near Wachovia Bank, for no absolute reason! I was too far behind to speed up and doing anything about it, but it infuriated me! They turned onto my street so I honked my horn at them, even though I was still a distance away. They rolled through the stop sign on Chickacoan Trail and then ended up turning back around and rolling through it again. They got away with it.
Well now last night, while we were home, we had the garage door open...my father opened the door to the garage to go outside and saw a young man walking through our garage! He yelled "hey!" and the kid took off to a White Honda Civic waiting for him across the street. Luckily he didn't get away with anything, but this was at 9o'clock at night on a Wednesday with cars parked in front of the house and the sun still up. What are these kids thinking?
If these are descriptions to your cars or your children's cars, I think you need to have a serious talk with them and maybe take away some driving privileges for the summer. I am only 26 years old, and would never have been so dumb to do anyone of those things.

One day these kids are going to run face to face with someone who believes strongly in the 2nd amendment and end up in the ground. Maybe then that would scare them to not break into anothers house.

Please, if this ever happens again, CALL THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE!

For now, call the non-emergency number and let them know what happened.

Typically, these kids do this in order to look for beer in your garage.

We need to let the Sheriff's office know when it's going on and give them a good description of the vehicle(s) involved, etc. Until these punks see that there is consequences to their actions, they'll just continue to do it...

A great tip I got from this board years ago is to have the non emergency number programmed into your cell phone.

it's been in my phone since then- used it the other night when a house was vandalized in our 'hood and a patrol car was in our area within 20 minutes... ALWAYS CALL. they just may catch these brats before they do something worse or end up hurt. we are 2nd amendment believers TO THE CORE and protect our house and family against any and all threats.

Is this number on the front page of the website? would be a great newsletter blurb since these incidets WILL increase as they do every summer...

We had a couple of teenagers enter into the garage of a neighbor a few years ago. They ran away on foot when he caught them and left their car in front of his house. He called the Sheriffs office and, a few days later, noticed the car in the driveway of a neighbor a block and a half away. The nucklehead was the neighbors kid... Idiot!

Some kids seem to think that adults are completely clueless. In fact, we notice their cars, can follow them to see where they live, as well as Google their names and find their MySpace pages. We can find out who they are and who their friends are. It don't take no genius!

We actually had a couple of kids stealing beer out of our garages last summer. One neighbor actually saw them and stood in the middle of the street to stop them (in their "getaway car" in our cul-de-sac). They actually got out of the car--with the beer-- and started running (again, in our cul-de-sac). It was infuriating up until that point and that incident made it down right funny. Police showed up, Mom came to pick them up in a very nice SUV, none too happy.
