    UPDATE:

The same two kids were out again today on 9/17/22 driving the red Toy "Corvette-Style" motorized car and was nearly hit by two cars coming down Ridgeway Drive---Finally took a picture of the car on my iphone and called the county sheriffs who came out and now they are looking for the two kids because they nearly got hit when they were swerving around in the road. There is no rear-window mirror on those cars nor were kids wearing helmets or seat belts. That toy car is too low for cars to see them and *NOT* STREET LEGAL either.

Again, to the parents of these kids- Deputies and I believe you guys don't care about your kids and if they get killed, we won't feel sorry for you both because you are too dumb to understand that you are risking their lives at a time when you are too lazy to supervise them. They are obviously pre-teens and if they get killed....guess what? LCSO can hold you two responsible for your negligence. Again, the deputies are on the lookout for these two kids and once they find them, they will be taking action legally because the deputies said that car is NOT street legal and not supposed to be driven on the roads- So take the cars somewhere else where it is LEGAL *AND* SAFE for them to drive on.

If you parents have any brains left, get your kids OUT of the street before you find out from the Deputies that they've been hit by a car!!!

    ORIGINAL POST:

To the parents of two pre-teens driving the red Toy racing car yesterday on Ridgeway Drive.

Do you realize how dangerous it was for these two young kids to be driving a Motorized Toy car on state streets? I saw them barreling down Ridgeway Drive and several cars nearly ran them over. Where is your brain? Do you care about their safety on streets where other more powerful and larger cars are surrounding them?

It only takes a split second to have an accident - The cops were called and they said they are looking for the parents of those two kids and they want to inform the parents that it is ILLEGAL for them to be driving the motorized toy car / go kart on state streets around Broadlands. Police said they are concerned for safety of kids first and foremost-

Cop said that some parents don’t care about the safety of their kids and will let them do anything kids wish even if it might result in severe injury or even Death- Negligence at its best.

I recommend that you tell your kids to not drive on Ridgeway Drive (or any other street that has motor vehicles) for their safety. Further, since car does not have headlights, turn signals, tail lights, mirrors- they potentially can confiscate the car if isn’t registered and licensed for the road.

I as heck wouldn’t let my kid drive such a small car on a ROAD where people/students speed down Ridgeway from up the hill at the top. I see a major accident waiting to happen!!

If you care about your pre-teen kids, banish them from driving on residential streets that have cars whizzing about at a much faster speed and your kids may live a lot longer!

    SMDH-
