Kindergarten registration time

What time is the kindergarten registration in april?
Cant find it yet.
Also is there a way to know or request the am or pm schedule for KG?

Per the LCPS website, Kindergarten registration is on April 16, 2013. Here is the weblink: http://www.lcps.org/page/392

As for AM or PM, generally speaking if you notify the school that both parents work and/or you have after school child care - they typically put you in AM. But my recommendation would be get to registration early. Typically the school allocates several PM slots for late or transferred enrollment. Hope the info helps.

 

I am looking for pm enrollment...so are you saying you can also enroll before april 16th?

"Early" means be in line when the doors open on the 16th. Most of the time it doesn't matter but sometimes some schools have more kids register than there are seats in the classrooms and some students need to attend a different school.

Villager is exactly right; the day of registration (especially for Mill Run) I'd urgue you to get there first thing in the morning. I would also verify that you are "assigned" to attend MRES in 2014. To give you an idea the 2012-2013 MRES Kindergarten am/pm has 6 classes, classes ranging from 19-24 kids per class.

Another reason to get in line early, is the SB recently passed a resolution that allows parents to enroll their kids (if the desired school has room) at the school of their choice.

I know that this thread is about K registration, but does anyone know how 1st grade registration went last spring? Did Mill Run have space for all the incoming 1st graders? I had no problem with my now 2nd grader, but I know for a fact there were space issues at Legacy & CC almost 2 years ago. I want to make sure I don't have a problem with my private kindergartener. TIA!

 

I think first grade did have space, but the 7 classes were pretty full at 27 each.
