Lidl opening

The new Lidl grocery has announced a March 8 opening date. There may be a "soft" open in advance of that date.

Hard to put my finger on it, maybe like a mini Walmart? Some strange collection of items, some interesting with good prices. The food quality and prices seemed good, especially for organic. Bakery was a nice addition.

 

While I generally like Lidl, their automated checkout machines are the worst. Every time I try to use them, they either don't scan properly or breakdown and require an attendant to help you. And since they have few employees (probably to cut overhead costs), they are not quick to assist. Just yesterday, another problem and neither of the two employees could figure out the solution. (These were the cashiers who had to leave their register and customers to help several of us who were having issues. Both myself and the lady beside me left items behind rather than wait.
