    Greetings neighbors,

I'm very new to Linux. Wanted to migrate to LINUX and abandon Windows [With all the security issues + Linux being open source].

Is there a site/recommendation where one can get some good grasp of Linux and things it can do?

Also, anyone have any recommendation on Wireless PCI NIC that works seamlessly with Red Hat 9.0?

    Thanks in advance.

    Sabbir :)

www.linux.org has lots of good information and HOW-TOs. It's a great place to start but there is no shortage of places to go for Linux information.

As for the PCI NIC most will work. Intel and 3com NICs are what I've used with Red Hat going back to 5.2. But you can also check out http://hardware.redhat.com/hcl/ for a list of "certified" hardware.

As for RH9, you may want to look into Fedora. RH9 is no longer being supported by Red Hat but there is still plenty of 3rd party support for it. Fedora is the new community project name for Red Hat Linux (vs. Red Hat Enterprise Linux or RHEL). Fedora has it's Core 2 out already (think old Red Hat 11). You can get the CD/DVD .iso's from http://fedora.redhat.com
