I have some clothes, some older furniture, and an older working washer and dryer that I would like to donate to a local charity. I am looking for a charity that will "pick up". Any input is appreciated.

You could also use Craigslist to sell it if the charities don't pan out.

Purple Heart and American Veterans (something?) I believe pick up, if you call them. I never found anyone willing to take washers/dryers.

Thanks Homer. I did the Craigslist thing, due to needing to get rid of the stuff. It was gone is less than a day.

Steve...Yes they picked up. In the advertisement I put that I would help load, and I did. Within an hour I had calls on the Washer/Dryer and the furniture. It was all gone the next day. Granted I gave the stuff away, and none of it was in the best of shape, but the people that got it were real appreciative. Beats paying AAA trash to haul the W/D away.

I know this is off topic, but i use craigslist and freecycle all the time to give stuff away.

I'm just looking for a reasonable way to dump some of this stuff that normally I would try to ebay but don't want to deal with hassle of shipping, etc. If someone wants my stereo, cd carousol type of stuff, etc. I just need to stop procrastinating and put it up there :)
