Call Dell, get that new gaming rig, overclock the processor, get the latest $600 video card and hit the weight room to work out those wrist muscles! It's time again!

LAN Gaming Party June 12 2004!

Back by growing popular demand! Looking to break our record of 7 on 7, we're shooting for 10 on 10!

    WHO: Anyone! Bring your friends!

WHERE: The Broadlands Community Center (by the mobil gas station)

WHEN: We begin at 11am and will go until about 5pm

WHAT: Bring your computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, headphones (no speakers!) and the games 'Battlefield Vietnam' and 'Call of Duty'. Please have them installed with the latest patches. We will try and have copies of the games on hand for temporary use for those who forget to have it.

I would really enjoy fragging all of you at Halo and Unreal Tournament 2004.

I'll be an hour, maybe 2 hours, late for the party. I'll give all the networking equipment (switch, cables, etc) to John (Hornerjo) and meet you all there after my meeting.

For those who were at the last party, do we need anything else on the 'technical' side? I'll see if I can gather up more power strips. Anything else?

Hornerjo, how do we look in regards to the budget? Can we spare a few bucks to buy some cans of soda? I can swing by Costco or Sams Club...

Hello all. I just started paying attention to the fact that my HOA has a website. Dawne from the tech committee pointed me in this direction regarding LAN games.

I don't suppose anyone here still plays Quake 3 Arena or any of the mods for it. I'll vote for Painkiller(old QuakeWorld style physics) or UT2K4.

What do I need to bring? Rig, monitor, etc.? Does this cost anything?

I've heard Painkiller is fun, I still need to check that one out.

Just bring your whole computer setup, except for speakers. Bring headphones instead.

What do others think about playing Battlefield: Vietnam?

Im an avid hardcore Q3 player and run game servers out of Florida. The mod I play is Insta-unlagged with railgun, but I also like the normal gameplay as well....:)
I just resigned from my quake 3 clan because of time issues (baby #2 is coming, got work to do before it gets here), but if you are interested in playing sometime let me know. My brother in Leesburg plays from time to time as well.
I used to play in lan events (not here at broadlands), but would host my own years ago. Great fun, but time isnt there anymore for it, or else I would sign up and join you guys.
    Have fun!

I played a lot of Rocket Arena 3. Mano y mano style. I will definitely hit you up in the future to play.

I attended the technology committee earlier tonight (the subject was oddly Home Security). I heard the LAN party starts at 11am in the community center off of waxpool road. I understand what I need to bring in terms of computer hardware. However, what do I do about some of these games that I don't own? I'd like to think I own a lot of good multiplayer FPS games such as Halo, UT2K4, Painkiller, Q3A, etc. However, I don't own Battlefield 1942, Vietnam whatever, etc. Do I just sit those rounds out or do I need to go get the software?

Here is a suggestion. I have never played it but "Americas Army" is a free D/L. I just read that a new version is out. Some of us can get it and bring it on CD to allow others to install it.

Other than that I have many FPS games. All MOH flavors, CoD, Battlefield 1942 and Vietnam, UT, UT2003, UT2004, SoF, etc. Seems the one I do not have is Painkiller.

I'm sure we will find something that everybody either has or can get without purchasing.

Anyway, it's only 4 days away and a decision needs to be made soon.

1.01 is out now for Vietnam and CoD is up to version 1.4. Will the people who don't have the game be able to play? Will there be no-CD cracks?

We will use the following patches:

    1.01 for BF:Vietnam
    1.4 for Call of Duty

Hopefully everyone will have a copy and be ready to go! (But yes, we have temporary game cds and no-cd patches for those that need it.)
