LOST PIT BULL - From Friends of Homeless Animals

Tuesday night driving home a FOHA volunteer saw a loose dog running down the Greenway, she tried to catch him but he ran from her when she got out of the car, he had a collar on and was dragging a leash.

She called Animal Control and it seems as though he escaped from the tarmac at Dulles Airport (Dont know if he was coming off a flight or going on one).

Anyway, his owners are obviously frantic, he has been running since Monday afternoon and he keeps being spotted around Lo. Co. Parkway and the Greenway. If you see him to call Lo. County Animal Control or try to snag him. My heart goes out to the poor boy running around an unfamiliar area obviously freaked out.

He looked about 45 - 55 lbs, he is a Brown Pit Bull with a white mask. He is wearing a collar.

Poor pup! I will keep my eyes open for him, I drive that stretch a lot.
I will also ask my co-workers who are in the area.
Please let me know if/when you get updates on the little guy. Its too cold for such a short haired dog to be lost in unfamiliar terrain!

I saw him yesterday in my neighborhood (across the Exxon station off Loudoun County Parkway). I tried to call him to me, but he ran off towards the apartments. I called the Animal Control and left a voicemail. Hopefully, they've found him since.

    Audrey-
He has been sighted today, March 3, at Loudoun Valley Estates off of LoCo Parkway, before Gleedsville road, in the single family home section.
We tried to get him three times, but he ran. He is looking ok, a bit skinny. His leash and collar are still in tact. We are going to keep looking for him, and will let you know what we find. Can you pass this info along to the proper people? Thanks!

Any luck with this little guy? I informed my sister who lives in Brambleton and she said she'd keep an eye out too. She has a pit mix herself and is a huge dog lover.

I didn't get any updates from FOHA or Loudoun Animal Control, but I did find this from KOIN News Channel 6 Portland:

Showdog Lost At D.C. Airport Coming Home To Portland

PORTLAND - A show champion Pit Bull that was lost at Dulles Airport is coming home to Portland.

Princess escaped nearly a month ago from the holding area at the Washington, D.C. airport, where staffers were supposed to be sending her to her new owner, Gary Clemens.

The airport grounds are expansive and wooded. The dog was finally found and captured, and was supposed to fly into Portland Saturday night, but poor weather in D.C. delayed her transport.

    Check back for updates.
