If you'd like an early start to the Christmas music season, the Loudoun Chorale's annual Christmas concert is this Friday and Saturday. The venues are in Purcellville and Leesburg this year, so apologies that it's a bit more of a drive. (We did not want to conflict with the Master Singers concert and our usual Ashburn venue was already booked for Dec. 1.)

Anyway, information follows. If you have any questions, or would like to know more, PM me. New members are always welcome and rehearsals will resume in January for our spring concert, tentatively titled "From Mozart to Broadway."

Loudoun Chorale Presents "The Many Moods of Christmas" Dec. 1 and 2

The Loudoun Chorale continues its long tradition of performing high quality choral music with its winter concert “The Many Moods of Christmas.”

Under the direction of William Propst, featured works will include Daniel Pinkham’s “Christmas Cantata,” Morten Lauridsen’s “O Magnum Mysterium,” and the quintessential holiday arrangement of beloved carols, “The Many Moods of Christmas, Suites I, II and III,” by Robert Shaw and Robert Russell Bennett. Some selections will include holiday brass.

Concert dates, times and locations are Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 37018 Glendale St., Purcellville, 20132, and Dec. 2 at 4 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 605 West Market Street, Leesburg, 20176. Tickets will be sold at the door for $10 general admission. Senior tickets are $8 and youth tickets are $5. There is no charge for children 12 and under.

The Loudoun Chorale, a community-based organization founded in 1991, is the largest vocal ensemble in Loudoun County with more than 60 mixed-voice singers. The group sings both traditional and contemporary works and has performed at the Washington National Cathedral, in several Loudoun communities and at the Waterford Fair.
