Loudoun Chorale Seeks SINGERS for 2008-2009

Calling all singers!​

The Loudoun Chorale invites all interested sopranos, altos, tenors and basses to come and sing with the Chorale during their 2008-2009 season.​

The Loudoun Chorale was formed in 1991 and is still going strong today with about 60 singers. The Chorale performs 2 major concerts a year, winter and spring. This year's winter concert is set for Dec. 6 in Ashburn and Dec. 7 in Leesburg. The centerpiece of the performance will be John Rutter's Gloria. The Chorale has 2 fall perfomances planned, at the Waterford Fair on Oct. 4 and at a special event for breast cancer survivors on Oct. 12.

Rehearsals are every Sunday night from 6 - 8 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 605 W. Market St., Leesburg. (All rehearsals begin and end on time.)

Annual dues for members are $50/$75 for individuals/couples and there is a cost of $21 for music. For more information, call 703-722-4055 or visit the Loudoun Chorale website.

I KNEW there were at least 2 singers here! I've done some Rutter, but not the Gloria, and I'm looking forward to that. If there's any way I can convince anyone to give it a try, let me know.

The rehearsals absolutely do not drag on past 8 p.m. and traffic into Leesburg is pretty light on Sunday nights.

And the quality is pretty good for a community chorale, in my somewhat biased humble opinion!!

 

When I did Rutter's Gloria, Rutter was directing. What a trip. I'm just not sure I can commit to it at this point... as much as I'd love to. What else are you guys doing this season?

 

Keep trying darlin! Someday, maybe, with enuf alcohol in me But not right now with me fighting a summer cold. I would probably sound like Warf's war bellow!
