Over the last 1/2 year or so I have accumulated a few library cards via the reciprocal arrangement we have.

I generated a list of the number of magazines available using Zinio (titles vary by library):

    DC 178

    Loudoun 117

    Arlington 98

    Alexandria 82

    Fairfax 56

Perhaps this will be useful to someone.

These are free to "check out" if you have a library card for that library.

Thanks for posting this. How do you view them? Zinio requires flash which is not supported on much these days.

We view them on ipads. The basic process is to check out on a computer, then view with the Zinio app on the ipad.

    • After you select a magazine, you’ll be asked to create a Loudoun County Public Library Zinio account. The next step is to create a second account with Zinio, the company that hosts the library’s magazine platform. (It’s OK to use the same user name and password combination.) Confused? Don’t worry, after this setup you’ll only have to log in once when you check out.
    • Checkouts are for single issues, not for a subscription. So if you check out a monthly magazine, you’ll need to come back the following month if you want the next issue.
    • The Zinio app is for reading only. Selection and checkout must be done on a computer, not from within the app. Sorry.

Ah, thanks. For some reason I thought I read the Zinio app could not be used at all for library viewing. Of course, my Ipad 1 is not compatible with the Zinio app, drats.
