There was also another "Home invasion style" break in Sterling last night.

Around 11:55PM four unknown suspects entered a residence in the 21000 block of Gladstone Drive through an unlocked basement door. All four suspects were wearing dark hoodies and had their faces covered. Two suspects brandished firearms while the two others carried baseball bats. The suspects demanded cash from a 32-year-old Sterling man.

There was another one in Sterling a year ago or so, where they came in while a bunch of people were in the house and people got shot.

Still makes me wonder to this day if something else may have contributed. In the one you mentioned it sounds like a few people were renting the place.

One definite positive about HOA's is we don't have ten people renting out a house here. That alone is worth it. I'm not saying it's "bad" just that it affects values, and a downward spiral can pick up. Doesn't always come back, look at DC. Some people would live in NE there to not have to commute...if it was reasonably safe...or Reston - Glade Drive anyone?
