Member Titles

Just curious how these are assigned - I've been a member of the forums since 2/11/02 and am still listed as a "new member". A new poster on one of the hospital threads is listed as having signed up on 7/14/04 and is listed as a "starting member". Granted if I posted more, I'd rapidly move to one of the "junior, average, senior,..." titles, but I try to post only where it seems constructive to do so.

It isn't a big thing, but still somewhat annoying...

 

I don't think it matters. On all the other forums I've been on, it seems like people get all high and mighty just because they have posted alot (and talk down to the "n00bs"). quantity!=quality, and having it displayed just creates more trouble than it's worth IMO...

I do like the ratings system, which you can rate/filter a poster, etc.

 

I agree - awarding volume can have a negative impact. I'm just curious what the difference between new and starting is - I've been a 'new' member for over two years now <g>.

 

Starting members have <5 posts; new members have 5-24 posts.

You only need 3 more posts (25) to reach the vaunted "junior member" status! [8D]
