New Garbage Cans

What is the story with the new garbage cans. Message in mailbox says they are delayed. Are we supposed to put garbage bags on the street on Monday?

 

I was wondering the same thing!

Also, I fogot to put our AAA toters out this morning. Any ideas what I should do? Do I need to take them somewhere or is there another pickup day?

I suppose if they're not here by tomorrow, we put our bags of trash on the curb.

 

If they have not yet picked up your AAA toters put them out, if not call AAA for pickup.

As far as the new garbage toters, that letter explains the issue. From what I understand the new company has contracted with another company and will have cans this week. From what I understand, they were totally blindsided by their supplier. They placed the order over 6 weeks ago, and were promised delivery. Needless to say, they were not happy campers.




For Monday, if you don't have a can, you'll have to place a garbage bag out for pickup.

 

The pick up of our old trash cans has been sporadic on Springwell Drive. I saw AAA come by - threw one of our neighbor's cans in their truck and drive off. Neither ours nor our other neighbor have been picked and it's now 5:00 p.m. They were right in plain view too. I looked down our street and there are several more trash cans.....what's up with that? Why pick up one and then drive off????

 

AAA said they would pick them up today. We have no control over what they're doing, as the contract expired yesterday. All the HOA can do right now is monitor to see if they're gone by Monday evening.

 

So if they're not gone by Monday evening - should we let HOA know or call AAA?

 

The older, rattier looking toters were thrown in the back of the garbage truck this morning and rather unceremoniously eaten by the compacter. The newer toters were left, I imagine, for a later pick-up to be re-used.

 

Residents don't need to call AAA directly about this unless they are in a townhouse and contracted directly with AAA for their toter.
If AAA has not picked them up by Monday, the HOA will call AAA.

 

I heard from several sources that it would be at least 2 months before the new trash cans will be available. I believe you will have to use your own trash bags until then.

 

We got our new trash cans this afternoon.

Don't know your sources, but New Vision initially told us earlier last week they were expecting them around April 20th. They then checked with a different supplier and were able to get them by this Tuesday.

 

Our AAA garbage can is still here too. Can I use it and put it out tomorrow for trash day since we don't have a new one yet either?

It was a lame attempt at a late April Fools Joke. I should have stated that eveyone was going to have to take their trash to the dump themselves for 2 months

I am surprised that there weren't more April fools jokes about trash, traffic lights, etc.

 

But, for the new ones, they'll be delivered to the townhomes?

 

We got our new recycler's and trash cans first thing. We are on Chickacoan Trail. I was so pleased because they are so clean!! (for now)

I guess it's the little things in life that please me

Our street still hasn't received the new cans or recycling bins....is there still a delay? or someone we should contact?

 

The new cans are on there way from Georgia as of yesterday. New vision is expecting to recieve them either late this afternoon or early tomorrow. they have pledged to the HOA that everyone will havethere new toters no later then 3pm on Saturday.. If for any reason you still have not recieved your toters by Monday morning still put your trash out but give New vision a call
at 703 830 7908. All other needed trash information is included in the april newsletter on page 11.
