Noise Ordinance?

I live on Frame Sq. We have a budding drummer who plays pretty late into the night. He's playing right now for example... 10:21pm.... he has played after midnight on the weekend. It's pretty inconsiderate considering we are in townhouses. I don't mind when he usually plays around 5-6pm, but this late is rediculous.

I couldnt find any noise-related info on loudoun.gov -- any ideas?

Actually, there is a noise ordinance: under ordinance chapter 654.02, Unreasonable Noise ..

It goes on to cover engines, pumps, other machinery, etc. Farm equipment is excepted, as it should be.

The violator is subject to be declared a public nuisance and may be subject to a restraining order or injunction.

So, if the guy is playing past 11:00pm, even on weekends, you can call the sheriff. Although, I would use the non-emergency phone number ...

well yeah, but before I do that, I wanted to know what the law was =)

 

Careful knocking on an unknown neighbors door...people seem to be a little stressed around here, you don't know what you'll be getting into. That said good luck!
