Has anyone purchased a new one lately? I have been doing some research and haven't found one I love. If you recently purchased one and love it please consider posting comments. My 10 1/2 yr old GE died. :-(

We purchased the GE 240-Advantium microwave late last year and have been VERY pleased with it's performance and versatility. Nothing says speed, like cooking chocolate chip cookies in 5 minutes or roasting a 4lb chicken in 24 minutes.

The Advantium is pricey but worth every penny we spent. It's a microwave, convection, speed cook oven and warming tray all in one.

Sorry for the delay -- My husband installed it himself. He had to drill new holes, and rigged sort of a shim to stabilize the microwave while he was installing it. Personally I would have asked someone to assist, but other than the new holes it didn't look that hard to install. I still haven't used the steam feature, the sensor idea takes some getting used to, but overall I like it.

I guess the hardest part is just getting wiring there if you don't already have it -- otherwise, it's a 1-2hr job.

I replaced mine myself with the same GE model just the newer version so all the holes and wiring are the same. Took me 20 minutes to take the old one down and put the new one up. You do need two people.

The old GE kicked the bucket this week - probably about time (12.5 years). From reading here, would you say it's worth it to look at replacing with another GE - to make the install that much easier? I'm guessing there some bracket on the wall that the micro hangs on? Anything I should know (tips/tricks) before I try to get this one down?

I'd really like one of the cool new ones with all the controls across the bottom - but, alas, no white ones.
