A little too fast on the submit button....:D
I also asked about static IP. They are available, the cost is $129. There is no speed advantage to getting the static IP, they still are only advertising 4MB and 512K service. It looks like the additional $70 just gets you the address. At 512K, it may be a little too slow to host any serious servers.

The static IP is part of their business package. For $129 you get one static IP, premier, and a special phone number to call when you want them to hold your hand. And you still can't run any servers on it (based on TOS). Even inbound port 80 and 25 are blocked. It's not woth the money. My iDSL (only 128k) is a better deal with 32 static IPs for less money.

I just upgraded and I'm getting better than advertised speeds. I'm impressed. With the standard package I wasn't getting close to the advertised downloads. I can actually use my VoIP service and maybe add a second line while still surfing now. :) Now, if I can only use the service to host my own servers I'll drop the second iDSL line.

I agree, im still seeeing better than advertised speeds, and I also wish I could utilize servers on this service. Maybe if FIOS ever gets here we can do some hosting, but until then, Ill keep leasing my own server and admin it remotely.....

port 22 isn't blocked, strangely.... I just use all non-standard ports and everything works nicely.... I mean, I'm not running any servers! ;)
