Have you tried going through the County's PIE program? The speech pathologist assigned to my son is fantastic.

My son didn't qualify for the free county program but we knew he needed help and someone recommended Kathy Gurgick. He worked with her for about a year and had great success. Kathy's website is:

    Good luck!

Unfortunately there are too many kids who are not low enough in their scores to qualify for county services but still need help :angryfire:. My son had sound formation difficulties and was 8 months behind in his speech development. We petitioned the County for 18 months before finally going it alone.

My son was with 2 different therapists in Susan Falck-Muten's office in Reston. He was there for 16 months before being released since he learned how to form his words and caught up so that he was ~ 4 months ahead. They also did OT with him during the appointments, which was critical for his needs.

    Good luck!
