recycle old stereo/computer equip.

Anyone know of a place that collects old stereo/computer equipment? There was a temporary collection station near Ashburn road several months ago that did this. I've got some old equipment I'd like to get rid of, and would rather have it recycled than just thrown away.

 

There is a good forum for finding and giving away free stuff. It is called FreeCycle. Do a Google search on it. They have a Loudoun county-specific subgroup. We've already given away a few desks using FreeCycle.

You could donate it to Goodwill or some other charitable organization and take the tax write off...

 

Loudoun County provides this service twice a year, most recently in October. Their website indicates that the next electronics recycling event is planned for Spring, 2005.

Thanks for the website link. This was exactly what I was thinking of. But, darn it, I missed the October date...

They've now updated the website with the next date - May 21.
