I could use some advice. I was walking my dog just a few minutes ago, and noticed a lot of trash on the corner of Vestals Gap & Claiborne East. Not unusual, I'm sorry to say, as the folks on Vestals Gap Drive just west of Claiborne often leave recycling out on windy days, and it usually ends up in my neighborhood.

However, upon inspection of the swath of litter, I found quite a bit of PII among the trash, including the homeowner's full name, address, various mail, a credit card statement, various reciepts from retail establishments, etc, etc. I walked across Claiborne and rang the bell, but no one answered. Now I know where you live, the make, model, year, VIN, and license plate number of your vehicle.

Summary: I know where you live, where you shop, what you drive, and what credit card you like to use to pay for it. All just by walking my dog.

Advice please? Should I call the HOA, the LCSO, or what?

At the very least, I would like to see the trash picked up. For security reasons, I think it would be in the homeowner's best interests as well.

Sorry forgot to mention, in a note of irony, one of the PII items with your name and address was last month's issue of the Broadlands Newsletter. [IMG]

Advice - if you see trash pick it up. If you see PII return to sender with recommendation to shred.

Thanks for the advice, I'll be happy to spend an hour of my time tomorrow afternoon once again picking up after my either completely clueless or completely ignorant "neighbor". And I did knock on their door, but no one answered.

I'll just call the LoCo Sheriff tomorrow morning to report. What's the fine for littering these days? $300? $500? The evidence shouldn't be hard to gather -- it's in a 200 yard trail of crap all along the south/east side of Vestals Gap Drive and Claiborne Parkway.

    Freakin' amazing...

I feel ya - we're doing the same thing - picking up after our neighbors behind us.
The deputy says that to be charged with littering you would need to prove intent and negligence.

    Personally Identifiable Information.

I ended up with 1/2 my neighbors recycling bin contents on my front yard yesterday. If you're going to recycle your newspaper, PLEASE put something heavy on top of it...

And then we'll have their shredded trash blowing around the neighborhood.
