"Restaurant Row" on Waxpool forced to close down?

maybe he has a grand plan that requires all of that vacated space... what about Preet Palace? they are so new- I wonder how this effects them?

 

Preet was not open yesterday. I assume that they too are now OOB.

 

I was told by Tin, the Cafe Opera owner, that they did file a complaint with the landlord(Tetra Partners), however, the space is still ownered by the Dry Cleaners and they are subletting to the new place. So the Condo association's hands were tied.

It's interesting though because it sounds like Opera does have a non-compete that would prevent it from being sold to the new company. Interesting.

 

I don't believe that excuse. If there is a noncompete, it would apply to all unit owners and the condo association could stop the drycleaner from opening a Chinese restaurant.
Given how lazy and nonresponsive Tetra is, it doesn't surprise me that they might not do anything about it.

He needs to make some noise about this. If there's a non-compete, he should make Tetra enforce it or sue them.

Due to a bank foreclosure of this newly constructed shopping center, Preet Palace, open for only a few months, must close this Ashburn restaurant so the Bank can move against the shopping center development.

 

yes she should! maybe she should talk to Vince at Subway- isn't this the same as the problem with Puccios in THAT plaza?

 

But I think Vince was told by the landlord, "go ahead, leave." or something to that effect.

 

From the pattern we've seen around Ashburn lately it doesn't seem like it would matter to Cafe Opera. New places open and close within a period of months so maybe the new place won't last long enough for it to matter. But that isn't really the point. CO should fight for the non-compete.

 

Just today I saw that BROOKFIELD HOMES is opening their sales center in the Broadlands Starbucks locale. Bummer, I vote for the Bux all day long.

 

It is only a temporary lease - month to month until they VM gets a permanent tenet.

Cashier at Moe's said that they will be moving in 2 months but said they are still looking for a spot.

 

why stay, i wonder? the location stinks. there's already Chipotle in Southern Walk- i think Moe's in the Broadlands splits the cheapo burrito crowd and hurts both of them.

i'm trying to think of a place they could move to and thrive in the Broadlands. or in Ashburn. drawing a total BLANK. i am struggling to think of a plaza in Ashburn that generates drive by/walk by traffic that a restaurant can succeed in- not just work for a landlord in... anyone? anyone? Bueller...

 

What about Farmwell Hunt Plaza, although Taco Bell is there.. With the new office building next to PNC bank and is closest plaza for Verizon employee's for lunch.

 

What about where Travisio's used to be?

 

Ashbrook by Harris Teeter in Ashburn Village? Or by Manhattan Pizza by Bloom as someone else mentioned. Between CVS, Manhattan's, and Moe's that shopping center might get some solid traffic.

 

That just leaves Five Guys in that strip mall after Moe's leaves? Or have they already left?
